Hello there! Wow! What a month it has been. From the release of “Finally Me”, to getting featured in NOTION magazine and being called a pop prince, to the Loverboy Lucian album announcement, The Faight release show announcement (tickets on sale now), our sold out Valentines sofar show, the Finally Me music video, and to top it all of, “Memories” just hit 100k streams on Spotify. What an incredible start to this very special era of my life and career. You and I haven’t really spoken much in the last few weeks, but as you can see it’s been so beautiful. I’m having so much fun learning and living my life as Loverboy Lucian. I’ve done multiple interviews with press outlets and it’s been a joy to talk about Finally Me and what’s to come on the new album.
The NOTION feature was such a pinch me moment. An absolute win to be endorsed by a highly respected music outlet. I was actually on their website reading about the wasia project and stumbled upon the article written about me. I was so shook and I still am shook as I type this out. They called me a pop prince. Which is so meta because Ben called me that while we were creating Loverboy Lucian. As the biggest Michael fan, the king of pop himself, to even have a nod like this being called a “pop prince” meant everything to me. I’m so honored to be getting support from publications like NOTION. Our Valentine’s day show was a memory that will forever stick with me for life. That whole venue was packed to the brim with beautiful couples. As the only single loverboy in the building, all of the love that was felt from every single person there, made up for the fact that I’m currently on the market still, lol. I don’t need a man to fulfill the love I felt that night. I’m so glad the loverboys and I crossed paths with some really special people that evening.
Now onto the chunk of this letter. Memories. You guys got “Memories” to 100k streams. Wow. I’m filled with so many emotions right now. That number may seem small to some people who have way over that amount of streams, but for a song from an album that I mainly self promoted myself, I’m very proud. Thank you to anyone who has streamed this song aka my story over the last 2 years. I always hoped that this would be the biggest song from “Roy”. I always hoped that it would be the overall takeaway for anyone who has listened to that album. I wrote about my past, my glaucoma diagnosis, my car accident, my insecurities, my family, my loved ones, our struggles, our darkest moments, our happiest moments, and our hope for the future. As i’ve left behind who i was to pack up who i’m becoming as “loverboy lucian”, I hold so much joy and pride knowing i was able to get my memories to 100k streams and into the hearts of many. Thank you for believing in me and my story. You got this song to this peak on my 10 year Glaucoma anniversary. February 24th marks 10 years and after all that i’ve been through with my 7 major eye surgeries and hundreds of days of treatments, this is such a special way to commemorate these last 10 years. Thank you for loving my memories and feeling what i felt as i poured my heart, blood, sweat, and many tears through writing this song. I hope to continue to have your support as we’ve started over with “finally me” and the new album “loverboy lucian” coming to you may 10th. Congrats to my team ben, ant, and paco along with our musicians - lacy, christian, and adam. First 100k mark ya’ll!! I couldn’t have made this song without you. I may no longer be the cowboy on the ride, but i’ll always hold him close to my loverboy heart as i continue making memories that will stick with me for life. Thank you for this.
